The Suffolk Red grape is a premium, cold-hardy table grape known for its distinctive sweet, spicy flavor and American hybrid heritage. It is highly regarded by home gardeners for its dessert-quality fruit and vibrant autumn foliage. They feature a sugary, deeply fruity sweetness accented by a distinct, spicy undertone. Because of its mixed lineage, the fruit carries a very mild "foxy" flavor the signature muskiness found in native American grapes but it is balanced out by the clean, refined sweetness of its European parentage. The bright pink-to-vibrant-red berries grow in loose clusters and feature incredibly thin, tender skins. Unlike some table grapes where the skin is intensely tart, the skin of the Suffolk Red is highly palatable, letting you taste the juicy, sugary pulp immediately without an astringent bite. Despite its British-sounding name, the Suffolk Red grape was actually developed in the United States. It was bred in 1935 by A.B. Stout at Cornell University’s New York State Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva, New York Please refer below for detailed information on the Suffolk Red grape vines for sale.
