Two hundred years ago Mary Malcomb planted an apple pip, or seed, in her garden in Lamb Abbey, England. From this humble beginning grew one of the finest dessert apples, the Lamb Abbey Pearmain apple tree. The Lamb Abbey Pearmain apple is small and intensely flavored with a hint of pineapple which becomes more pronounced as the harvest moves later into the fall.
