Continue ShoppingThe Atlantic Queen pear tree is an old French pear rediscovered in a New York coastal garden. The Atlantic Queen pear tree is a midseason ripening tree with excellent fire blight resistance. The fruit is very large, yellow-green skin up to 1.5 pounds. The Atlantic Queen pear is aromatic with good flavor and buttery texture. The pear tree is productive, even under adverse growing conditions with good overall disease resistance and tolerant of tough growing conditions from coastal salt sprays, heavy soils to blistering heat. Also a prolific bearer to boot. Skin turns a characteristic yellow when ready to be eaten. Stores three months or more in cold storage. As with other fireblight resistant pears, farmers prefer this variety for ease of growing. Excellent choice for espalier.
