Bramtot cider apple is a French cider apple introduced in 1872 by a Monsieur Legrand, a nurseryman in the town of Yvetot in Normandy, one of the main cider-producing areas of France. A relatively small, dark red apple with a bittersweet flavor that is high in tannins. The fruit is typically harvested middle of fall and is well-suited for making both sweet and dry ciders, as well as pommeau and apple brandy.
