Jenny Fuzzy Kiwi is a self-fertile fuzzy kiwi. It has a lime green flesh with a texture similar to strawberries, pungent aroma and tart flavor. These are the kiwi we find in the grocery stores. The fuzzy kiwi is a very low chill fruit variety that only requires 100 hours of chilling to produce fruit. Kiwi vines are 1-2 feet in height when shipped. Important planting tip: Planting depth must be where roots flair out. Do not plant any deeper--they will not survive.
Fuzzy Kiwi Fruit - Actinidia deliciosa
Large, frost sensitive, vine hardy to 10 degrees Fahrenheit, although young leaves and shoots of all species can be damaged at temperatures below 31 degrees Fahrenheit. Overhead frost protection will protect vines from late spring frosts. This very vigorous vine requires a sturdy trellis (minimum 4x4 posts). Fruit is fuzzy brown on the outside, lime green inside with tiny black seeds. Jenny Kiwi is self-fertile. Hot or cool climates. Excellent keeper in refrigeration.
