The White Ume, Shiro-Kaga, is a beautiful Japanese apricot tree often used as an ornamental, but has the added benefit of delicious fruit. The White Ume apricot has stunning, white blooms of a single petal which consistently leads to a bounty of fresh apricots. The Ume is eaten raw, candied, boiled, preserved in sugar, pickled in salt and dried, or made into a liqueur. Harvest the White Ume apricot when it displays a red blush over the orange skin. Tree grows to about 15' and is self-fertile. Early bloomer. Lower chill requirement than Pink Ume.
