USDA Certified Organic
Holstein apple tree was discovered by chance in Germany around 1918. The Holstein apple is often best as a dessert apple, but makes a great fresh cider. The Holstein apple tree is thought to be progeny of esteemed Cox Orange Pippin. The Holstein apple is a large fruit, highly aromatic with a flavor of Cox and its prized sugar acid balance countered with a firm, juicy, creamy flesh. The Holstein apple trees are vigorous with a spreading nature and an abundance of fruiting spurs. Very good for cooking as well. Holstein apple is a great keeper, able to retain its qualities for a full five to six months after harvest if properly refrigerated. One of the favorites at apple tastings. Triploid.
