The skin is lemon-yellow and has the sprightly scent of citrus, apple and fresh laundry when ripe. Firm and crisp flesh with a pineapple/pear/apple flavor. Rich’s is a highly adaptable quince variety suited to most climates and has a natural dwarf growth habit.
Quince trees require 6-8 hours of full sun are each tree can bear 100 or more pounds of fruit which ripen September through October. Use in chutneys, jams or tarts or process into Membrillo to serve with Manchego cheese. We love to roast them and serve them with ice cream in the winter.
