Ambrosia pomegranate is a fantastically huge fruit: up to three times the size of Wonderful. Ambrosia is pale pink skin, purple sweet-tart juice, similar to Wonderful. Long-lived, any soil. Inland or coastal climate. 150 chill hours. Self-fruitful. Shipped as a 1 year tree, approximately 1-2 feet in height.

Growing Considerations for Ambrosia

USDA Zone: 7,8,9,10

Pollinate with one of the following: Self-Fertile

Mature Size: 8-12 ft. summer prune to maintain 8 ft. tree

Recommended Spacing: 8-12 ft. summer pruned 8 ft.spacing

Ripens: End September

Rootstock: Pomegranate

Water Requirement: 8-15 gallons per week May through Sept.

Years to bear: 1-3 years

Shape when shipped: small bush

*Size supplied when shipped: 3/8 to 1/2  inch caliper (width around trunk) 1-2 ft. in field

*As noted by University of California Scientists and other qualified professionals the most successful trees often have caliper from 1/2" to 5/8" and usually establish faster than smaller and larger planting stock.

Our pomegranate bushes are delivered to you bareroot during their winter dormancy from January through May depending on USDA zone. Trees are shipped with your invoice and helpful planting directions.  There is no minimum quantity required but shipping rate for an individual tree is expensive so you'll find it's cost effective to consider a handful trees,vines or our helpful Tree Starter Kits.
